About the desk

Who runs this

One person, one desk

Statix Dispatch is a one-person link desk run by the operator of statixdispatch.com. No newsroom, no staff, no venture funding — just one curious human who got tired of watching good link portals rot into link mausoleums and decided to build one that gets maintained.

What it is

A curated desk, plus original reporting

This site does two jobs: it points at wires, outlets, archives, and tools worth your time, organized by someone with opinions — and it publishes original field reports from the Operational Timing Desk, roughly every two weeks. Think of it as a well-kept desk in a shared newsroom: the clippings are filed, the Rolodex is current, the coffee is terrible, and every so often there's a fresh report on top of the pile.

It's also a love letter to the old-school link portals of the 90s web — the investigator's-desk vibe, the zine energy, the sense that the internet is something you explore, not something that gets fed to you. All the text, design, and curation here are original; the spirit is inherited, the expression is new.

Links are pointers, not endorsements

A link on this site means "this exists and seemed worth knowing about," not "we agree with it, vouch for it, or have any relationship with it." Linked sites are run by other people with their own agendas, accuracy standards, and terms of service.

  • No warranty. This directory is provided as-is. Links die, outlets change ownership, content drifts. We check the shelves regularly but can't guarantee every pointer is current or correct.
  • No liability. We're not responsible for what happens after you click through — the content, accuracy, or conduct of third-party sites is on them, not us.
  • Verify everything yourself. This is an investigator's desk, not an oracle. Cross-check claims, check timestamps, and treat every source — including this one — with the skepticism it deserves.
  • External content. Headlines in the Signal Feed are excerpts linking to their original publishers. The words belong to them; we just point at the signal.
  • Public sources, defensive purpose. Everything listed here is publicly available information and legitimate, widely-used security resources — the same tools and references used by journalists, researchers, and corporate defenders every day. They're presented for education, research, and defense, not for wrongdoing.

Support

Keep the signal alive

This desk is free, ad-free, and tracker-free — and keeping it that way costs time and coffee. If the Dispatch has ever saved you an hour of digging, a small tip keeps the shelves stocked and the links checked.

Tip the dispatch — no accounts, no subscriptions, no strings. Just fuel.

How this thing is built

  • Built by hand: plain HTML, one stylesheet, one script. No frameworks, no build step, no external JavaScript libraries, no webfonts to download.
  • No trackers, no cookies, no analytics scripts — none of the "privacy-respecting" kind, none of the "anonymized" kind. Serving pages necessarily reveals your connection to our host (true of every website); we just don't add any tracking of our own on top.
  • Served with strict security headers — a locked-down Content Security Policy, no framing, no MIME sniffing — because a security-flavored site ought to practice what it links to. (Check any response with your browser's dev tools; the policy is right there in the open.)
  • The Signal Feed is assembled in your browser from the publishers' own feeds (with a public proxy fallback where sources block cross-origin reads) and cached locally for 30 minutes.
  • No fake hit counters, no IP-logging theater, no right-click blockers. Those belonged to a different era, and good riddance.
